Our garden pizza- Zucchini, tomatoes, Banana peppers- YUM!

Jethro's lunch- I think I spoil him.

A water pipe burst on the street near us. It was pretty cool to watch.

Katya often has rough nights and wakes up before we go to bed. She really only
likes to snuggle Jethro.

Cali being cute and wearing the shirt in honor of our friend Tom's birthday.

Katya likes the Ergo just as much as Tenzing.

We got a caterpillar from Jethro's friend to watch it's transformation. The girls loved it.

Our Adventures

The girls love walking down the big hill to the end of the street to the creek to feed the ducks and throw rocks in The also love going on "hikes" at local parks. Here are pics of some of our recent adventures.

The girls love throwing rocks.

Tenzing enjoys our "hikes" too
Katya isn't really afraid of anything.

Birthday Fun on the 14th

I can't believe I turned 26 this year. Ugh. I am definitely getting older. Despite the fact that I am not a huge fan of birthdays these days, Jethro sure knows how to make them wonderful. The morning started out with pancakes and Jethro and the girls picking and bringing me roses. They were beautiful. Spent most of the morning relaxing and headed to lunch at the Olive Garden and then to the movie "Salt" while Amy and Dave watched the kids. Had pizza for dinner and Jethro and the girls made me cake. It was a fabulous day.

One of the best parts of being a kid is liking the batter off the beaters.

The girls decorated it- Love it!

We may have accidentally left the frosting to close to the counter edge.

Yee-Haw

Cali has been saying this around the house for a couple weeks. We don't have a rocking horse, so we have never been able to capture the full effect. Luckily, she spent the night at Rebekah's a couple weeks ago, and now we can really enjoy it. Thanks Rebekah for capturing it on film.

Snowbird hike

Last weekend Megan came up to visit and on Sunday we headed to Snowbird to take the kids on a hike. The girls were so excited. The crazy thing is Katya pretty much ran the whole way up and the whole way back. If you know Katya, it is a huge deal because she is usually the one that is far behind or has to be carried. She did not want to ride in the stroller at all. Go Katya! It was a blast and Cali keeps asking to go on more hikes.

Random pictures of importance

Cali absolutely loves helping make dinner. She helped Megan make this pizza last weekend.

I'm sure Cali was using this box as a stool. I think she learned her lesson.

Can't quite tell if Katya want to be a baby or a big kid.

My two boys.

Cali Speaking

Today, I came home from work and asked Cali, "Were you nice to mommy today?"

Cali calmly replied, "Yeah, I just yell at her."

Notes:
  • You are a rolling maniac. You roll from front to back and all over the place.
  • You are starting to teethe.
  • You demand food right when you wake up and after you eat you are just a happy boy.
  • You love being scared. You jump and then laugh.
  • Your sisters make you laugh like crazy.
  • You are so close to sitting up by yourself.
  • You love riding around in your Ergo.
  • You love jumping around in your Jumperoo.
  • You like being around everyone and don't like being left alone.

  • You love sleeping on your stomach.
  • You are such an happy and easy going boy.
  • You love sticking to a schedule.
  • You don't transfer from the car to house well- you make up immediately when we stop.
  • You got to bed at the same time (usually around 7) as your sisters and even sleep through their screaming in the middle of the night.
And because he is so cute, some bonus pictures.

Snowbird without kids

Jethro had a retreat for a board he is on up at Snowbird from July 29-31. He was nice enough to find an overnight babysitter for all the kids (including Tenzing) (Thanks Rebekah!) so that I could come up Friday night. We had a dinner in the valley and then headed up to Snowbird. We hit the nice heated pool and the sauna room. Jethro had the conference till noon on Saturday so I spent the morning working out, relaxing and hiking. (We would have loved to sleep in, but some lovely people below us were laughing and yelling at 3 in the morning- not very conducive to sleeping.) It was a much needed break with quite time to think and beautiful scenery to enjoy.

The following pics are all from my hour long hike.

Absolutely gorgeous up there and it would be a blast to stay up there with the kids and take them hiking.

Pioneer Day Float Preview

(This is a little late, but oh well.) Since we don't take the kids to the Pioneer Day parade, we thought it would be fun to take them to the float preview party at the South Towne Expo Center. It as fun to see all the floats up close and the kids had a good time.

Tenzing enjoyed the stroll

It's amazing how much time, effort, and talent goes into these floats
