Family Pics

We ventured out late Thanksgiving morning to update our family pictures. Megan was nice enough to tag along and take the pictures for us. We have plenty of goofy pictures, but I'll just give you the best of the best.

(I had to include this because I just love it. Thanks Megs.)

Thanksgiving

We had a fabulous Thanksgiving filled with food, family, friends, and fun. Jethro started out playing flag football while I made my first turkey (I can't believe I forgot to take a picture). We took family pictures, at a fabulous dinner and then lazed around watching up. I just love Thanksgiving. I love that there is no pressure of gifts, super fancy decorations, or really bad weather (at least not this year). I loved being able to relax and hang out and reflect on what I'm grateful for. There is so much to be thankful for that I've made it a goal to reflect on it everyday instead of just on Thanksgiving. I think the one thing that I am most grateful for this year is where we live and the friendships we've made and experiences we've had here. I hope to be able to remember that and always be able to look on the bright side of things throughout life.

Now for some pics, and as usual, most are of the girls. Enjoy.

Why am I so excited for this week?

Happy Birthday Cali!

Well, Cali turned 2. I just can't believe it. Sometimes I think she's big enough to be 2, then other days I wish she was still the little baby I could hold in my arms. She is absolutely a girly girl who loves shoes, babies, dress up, and attention. She also loves balloons, balls, and stickers. She is catching on quite well to talking and is pretty good at repeating everything we say. She is also a little on the bossy side and thinks she is the older sister. We love her to death and are so proud of her and happy to have her i the family.

She celebrated her birthday by having friends over to play some games and decorate cupcakes. She loved all the attention and having a party.

Cali has had her eye on a certain baby doll at Costco for awhile and received it from Grandpa and Grandma and was ecstatic. She loved opening and watching daddy put it together. She has been inseparable from it since she got it. She loves the high chair, stroller, and bassinet. Hopefully the care she takes with her baby doll is a good sign how she'll treat her brother.

Fall Day

The girls enjoyed an impromptu frolic in the leaves this past Saturday, hence the messy hair and outside clothes. Katya couldn't get enough of it and Cali mostly enjoyed chomping on her apple.

Mama’s Holiday Wish List Meme

TodaysMama and Provo Craft are giving away a sleighful of gifts this holiday season and to enter I’m sharing this meme with you.

1. What 5 items are on your holiday wish list this year?

1. Snow
2. A Dyson vacuum (been a dream for awhile and will remain a dream for awhile)
3. Wood projects from the Wood Connection
4. All my scrapbooks from 2009 to get miraculously done.
5. Sleep.

2. What is your favorite handmade gift you have received?

Every year my grandpa would make us mini loaves of pumpkin bread and mail them to us.
They were so good and I would love hiding min in the fridge and rationing it so it would last
more than a day. So yummy!

3. What handmade gift have you always wanted to tackle?

I really wish I knew how to knit really soft fuzzy scarves and hats.

4. What was the best Christmas gift you received as a child?

A science experiment kit. I had such a blast playing with it.

5. What items are on your kid’s wish list this year?

They aren't quite old enough to fully grasp the concept, but based on what they
love, I'd have to say a camera, balls, books.

6. What is your favorite holiday food?

Hot Chocolate, hot chocolate, and more hot chocolate!

7. What will you be hand-crafting for the holidays?

Because my family reads this blog, I can't say what I'm doing for them. I am
finally making matching stockings. Also a wreath and a multitude of other
decorations for my house (thank you Wood Connection.)

8. What is your favorite holiday movie?

Tough choice. I love all the holiday movies and I love when certain networks
show Christmas movie marathons. They just make me feel good and happy.

9. Favorite holiday song?

A Mad Russians Christmas by Trans-Siberian Orchestra. For a traditional song, I really like Joy to the World.

10. Favorite holiday pastime?

Laying on the floor Christmas Eve with all the lights out and watching the Christmas tree light twinkle while listening to Christmas music.

New Phone Number

Since I got a phone with my new job, I haven't been using the number that you have for me. So, today, I got rid of that phone, and I am no longer on Verizon. It saved us $20 and Staci is finally able to text.

My new phone number is very easy to remember: 801-7-JETHRO. It is 801-753-8476. You can also call me by clicking the widget on the sidebar.

We went to the Verizon store because Staci's phone was broken, and the guy that helped us was really helpful. He tried to sell me on the Droid, but once I told him that I wasn't interested in buying a phone, but rather wanted to get rid of my phone, he was very helpful, and not pushy. It was really nice to receive some excellent customer service. Way to go Javier at the Verizon store!

Happy Halloween!

Most of our Halloween festivities were done on Friday with trick-or-treating at Jethro's work and then the ward trick-or-treat and chili cook-off that night. We did hit up a very fun party with the girls Saturday night, but they had so much candy that they didn't need to get any more on the real Halloween. Here are some pics of our little mouse and Tinkerbell.

Our first snow

There is just something so wonderful and magical about the first snow. Ours happened on Tuesday the 27th and it was wonderful. It was the perfect amount of snow and looked absolutely beautiful. My favorite thing is the way it looks on the last flowers of the season.

BYU vs. TCU

Last weekend Andrea and Jason were nice enough to invite us to go to the TCU game with them. Even though BYU lost, We still had a very enjoyable time.

Stopped by to visit Megan.

I really liked the view of the mountains from our seats and we were sheltered from the wind.
