Camera Happy

Yes, I do get a bit camera happy and take a lot of pictures, especially when my kids can't tell me no and can't run away. Tenzing is 6 weeks old and it was actually the first time we got a picture together. I'm kind of sad that I never thought to take any pictures of the 2 of us.

She might be a little jealous of all of Tenzing's baby stuff.

These are a few of my favorite things....

There are a few things that I really like lately. If I like them so much, why not share with all my blog readers. So here you go. My 4 favorite things:

1. Cuisinart 1.5 Quart Automatic Ice Cream Maker

This fancy icecream maker is a new favorite of the family. It is $40 at Costco and worth every penny (it even comes with two bowls). Jethro's favorite thing about it (other than the fact that it makes ice cream) is that there is no rock salt or ice involved. all you have to do is put the bowl in the freezer and you can use it when it's frozen. My favorite thing about it is that I can make slushies, frozen yogurt, and sorbet. I'm excited for a summer full of slushies after working in the garden. It makes a very good amount of icecream- the same as a container from the store- 1.5 quarts. We love ours.

2. JustGano.com

I found this site a couple of weeks ago and I have fallen in love with the concept and their products. I love wearing fashion jewelry, but I hate paying a whole lot for it and I don't really have a lot of time to go and find the pieces I want. This business is a definite solution to my problem. It is a subscription service that sends you pieces that you choose each month. They have 3 different plans so you could get either 1, 3, or 6 pieces a month. I've gotten quite a few pieces so far and I love them all. If you check out their blog, they have a giveaway going on where you can score a free piece of jewelry (all you have to do is pick a piece and they'll send it to you). If you go here you can follow the instructions and receive a free bracelet for Earth Day. Go ahead and check out their pieces. It's pretty fun stuff. (If you do sign up for this, do it on a Friday. They have a freebie Friday for new signups.)

3 & 4. Babysteals.com and Scrapbooksteals.com

BabySteals.com

ScrapbookSteals.com

These 2 sites offer a different steal everyday at 9 am mountain time. The steals are usually 50% off retail so you can get pretty good deals. I've bought Baby Legs for all my kids and a bunch of maternity and baby items from babysteals. I've bought a lot of scrapbooking embellishments and a really good deal from scrapbook steals live brads, ribbon, flowers. They often have organization stuff and paper packs. You can sign up to be emailed the steal ever morning or just check every morning at 9 because things tend to go fast. If you live in the Salt Lake Valley or a willing to drive here, you can do local pickup in Murray so you don't have to pay shipping.

1 Month Already?

I can't believe our little boy is a month old already. He is so handsome and wonderful to have around. Here are his one month stats:
Weight: 9 lbs. 9 oz.
Height: 22.5 inches

Notes:
  • You have cute big feet with long toes that spread far apart
  • You are not bothered by all the screaming and yelling your sisters do
  • You are afraid of doctors and nurses- and rightfully so with how much you've been through
  • You have the cutest wrinkly forehead
  • You smile in your sleep
  • You enjoy being carried in the Moby wrap
  • Your preferred bedtime is between 1-2 am
  • You are always so serious
  • You sadly have lots of gas- every time you eat, cry, stretch, and anytime else we hear it
  • You have two cowlicks
  • You have 5 or 6 really long (1 inch) hairs on top of your head while the others are short

Bathtime Helpers

With Cali still being scared of Tenzing and Katya not being too interested in him, we decided the best way to help them adjust and like their brother was to help with his bath. The girls absolutely loved it and were super excited to help.

Snow!

We haven't had snow in so long that I forgot what winter was like. I figured winter was over so I washed all our winter clothes last night. Too bad we needed them today. The girls loved going outside and playing with Jethro.

Katya has missed 2 weeks of school and now thinks when she gets to go outside she gets to go to school- hence the backpack. Hopefully, she will be all better by Tuesday so she can go back.

Gettin' out

I kept forgetting to take my camera to the hospital all week and when I finally did, he gets checked out. I'm ok with that. He turned 3 weeks in the hospital and is so cute. He loved staring out his hospital window everyday and would spend a good half hour staring out.

Tenzing was lucky enough to gt his first real bath last night- the day he got home from the hospital. I think he is going to hate baths because he will associate hem with pain after we had to peel all the "stickers" of last night. It was so painful for us to do that to him, but at least they are off now and he can be more comfortable.

He was so hungry that he wanted his bottle even before he made it out of the bath.

2 week pictures (A week late)

I'm a little late posting these pics because of the hospital stay interruption, but here is the cute boy at 2 weeks (right before his hospital visit).

Tenzing Update

Last night Tenzing's roommate had to go to the intensive care unit. So today we are very fortunate that Tenzing gets to be checked out. He is still on oxygen but at least he will be home.

Tenzing Update

Tenzing, while cute is not getting over this as quickly as we would like. Staci thinks he looks like a fisherman in the hat in the picture below.

So, he didn't need auctioning between 5 am and 2 pm. And when he got suctioned a little after two, they didn't get anything out.

He has been on 25 ML of oxygen all day, but his saturation levels keep dropping below 88. So, that means he just isn't getting enough air in his little lungs.

He can come home on oxygen, or come home needing suction still, but not both. So, we may be brinig him home on oxygen if we can keep him from needing suction.

I don't know how Staci does such a good job being a mom. I can't wait to get back to work so that I can relax some. It is so tiring taking care of the girls and then staying up half the night with Tenzing , and yet, Staci does it all the time and then does a million other thugs on top of taking care of me and the kids. She truly is amazing.

Tenzing Update

So, for those of you that don't know, we took Tenzing to the hospital on Saturday because he has RSV. His temperature was high enough for our doctor to be concerned. It was around 100.4 (the newborn temp threshold) during the day Saturday, and then it came down. When it was up there again at 1:30 am that night, we took him in.

Since then, there hasn't been much to report. He is getting better each day. He is on oxygen and getting deep suction on a regular basis. When his oxygen saturation level stays above 88 (percent?) without oxygen being pumped in, and he doesn't have to have deep suction the whole time, he will be able to come home. He is getting the lowest amount of oxygen he can right now, and they have only had to do deep suction twice today, so he has a good chance of coming home tomorrow, Wednesday. Let's hope that happens.

Last night we took the girls to the hospital, and even though they couldn't see Tenzing, they got some ice cream and they loved it.
