There is just something so wonderful and magical about the first snow. Ours happened on Tuesday the 27th and it was wonderful. It was the perfect amount of snow and looked absolutely beautiful. My favorite thing is the way it looks on the last flowers of the season.

Fall Drive
I have wanted to take a drive up the canyon to see the leaves change and we finally had a chance yesterday. We missed most of the leaves changing at the top of the canyon, but they were still very beautiful at the bottom. The girls enjoyed getting out and taking a walk around the Temple Quarry. The nicest thing was that the weather was so gorgeous- it was in the 60's up the canyon.

Sunday Best
I can't believe how big the girls are getting. I got them all ready for church yesterday and stepped back to realize that they are growing up so fast. I love the stage they are at right now where they are so interactive and can communicate what they need. They are so fun to play with and have so much energy. I just love them so much.

She loves her some sunglasses.
Check that one off my list.
For quite awhile I have wanted to find a food storage solution in our tiny apartment. We were able to move a bunch of stuff out of the girls closet and store it somewhere else. This opened up a spot in their closet to conveniently store some food. After multiple attempts to get a board cut, I was able to get the shelves up and running this weekend. Not only do my home canned goods make great shelf supports, but it's great to know what I actually have on hand.
Why am I so excited for this week?
- Applesauce.
- Apple Butter.
- BYU vs. TCU- Thanks Andrea and Jason!
- Jethro's Birthday.
- GNO.
- Budget.
- Fall weather.
- Preschool.

Katya, as in the Old Testament
If I were alive during the time of my namesake (http://scriptures.lds.org/ex/18/)
She would have fit right in:

Rebekah gave us the dress and though I have never seen Nya wear it, I immediately thought it was a Bible costume.
And even though Staci thought I was making fun of it, I think it is perfect for a Sunday afternoon full of Bible study (or driving in the mountains).

Cali

Cali and Katya both really like to pray, sometimes. For some reason this morning, Cali wanted to pray while leaning up against the wall and putting her left leg behind her right leg, angled, and resting on just her toes.
She also likes to hold her hands in an interlocking way that is super-cute, especially when she doesn't get just one finger in between the other two fingers. I'll get a picture someday.

The Best 5 years
I have been lucky enough to be married to this wonderful man for the last 5 years.
He has taught me so much in that time, lessons I could never have learned on my own. I would like to share of the lessons Jethro has taught me.
1. Guys aren't mind readers. Make what you want known. If you want something done, tell him what it is. If you have expectations for your birthday/anniversary/Valentine's, tell him what they are. It'll save a lot of tears and frustration.
2. Just because it's not done your way, doesn't mean it was done wrong. I am sort of anal and Jethro has taught me that it's ok to do things different and that I can't control everything.
3. Communication is vital. No marriage can be good without necessary communication. It's what makes or breaks a marriage. Talking things out will not only solve a lot of problems, but will bring you closer together.
4. Have faith. There is no need to worry so much. If you have faith and are doing your part, everything will work out.
5. Stress isn't necessary. Just live in the moment and enjoy it.

Why Daddy is the best?
Because he takes us to the zoo and lets mommy scrapbook.

Jethro was wonderful enough to take the girls and the two girls we were babysitting over the weekend to the zoo while I got caught up on some scrapbooking. The girls loved it and pretty much walked all through the zoo. Cali enjoyed pushing the wagon and eating her snack. Jethro was even wonderful enough to let them play on the playground when they were done seeing the animals- something I am usually too tired to do. He has won the girls hearts and mine.

Cali's First Haircut
I was tired of the mullet and snot covered hair, so we got Cali's hair cut. We have a fabulous hairstylist that lives in our ward that comes to our house to cut our hair. It was so convenient and Cali looks a lot better with the snot-free hair and no mullet.
