Note to Self...

I just need to make a note to myself so that in 20 years when my kids ask me certain things, I'll have it written down.

Cali is finally (after many false alarms) getting her first tooth. I felt it yesterday and it has already broken through the skin.

Katya is now finally tall enough for her feet to reach the ground and push herself on her Pooh car. It's about time. It also looks like her feet are finally growing also.

Thanks Andrea

While we were waiting for Becky and Gideon to come out of the temple, Andrea took some family pics and pics of the girls with her awesome camera. Thanks Andrea. (There are a lot because they are all my favorites.)

Welcome to the Family, Becky!

This past weekend we were able to go to Sacramento to see Gideon marry the wonderful Becky. She is such a great girl and Gideon definitely got lucky. They make such a cute couple, don't you think?

The Sacramento Saga

Even though it was a long trip to and from, I am so happy that we were able to go to Gideon's wedding. The girls loved playing with their cousins and had a blast. It was nice to finally meet Juliette and George's family could finally meet Cali.

My sanity!

A couple of weeks ago I mentioned how excited I was that I was getting help containing my kids. I forgot to blog about it.

I found this fabulous gate online and it has been a lifesaver. Since both girls are now mobile, they would get into everything. Since our apartment is small, there is limited storage space so I have little options for putting things away. This gate keeps them contained in the living room and away from falling books, computer cords, and any other possible kid magnets. It's nice that I don't have to spend all day picking up messes and keeping kids out of trouble. Thank you gate makers!

Why am I so excited for this week?

  1. No 10 hour roadtrips with screaming kids.
  2. Jethro is one week closer to graduation.
  3. The Office starts on Thursday.
  4. BYU had another shutout!
  5. Going to the Zoo.
  6. Grocery Shopping. Yeah!
  7. My house is all clean. It feels nice.
  8. Farmer's Market.
  9. Fall time.
  10. Sewing Project.
  11. No work for Jethro on Friday!

Sometimes I feel like I live on a farm... (Part 6)

As it's almost time for the frost to hit, I just can't bear to see all the garden die. I'm trying to keep as much of it as I can, but it seems so hard to keep up with. How do you pick and eat 40 tomato plants worth of mass producing tomatoes? What do you do with 10 jalapeno plants when you don't even like spicy things? I decided to whip out my canner and jars and make things I don't eat, but Jethro does.

6 jars of Jalapeno Salsa.

6 cups of finely diced jalapenos- That was like 30 or so jalapenos and a couple
of green chili's from a garden. I could smell the spiciness in the air.

3 jars of BBQ Sauce

Even though I don't want to waste any vegetables so I try all this recipes, I realized that some things are just easier to buy. I had to get 16 cups of tomato puree among a bunch of other ingredients and then it had to cook in various stages for 1 hour and 45 minutes and all I got was 3 jars. That was a lot of energy on not very much. I also learned to read the directions carefully. Instead of doing toe sauce like the directions said, I dumped all the stuff in together and then turned it on. At least I followed the part where it said it needs to cook for 1 hour and 45 minutes. Next time I think I'll go to the store and get BBQ sauce and just bottle the tomatoes whole.

Oh Happy Day!

(I know it was a couple of days ago, but I just haven't had time to post about it yet. )

It's always really nice to see the scoreboard looking like this about half-way through the second quarter. What a beauty!

It was a complete sellout and was well worth going to. We sure do love fall football season. It's kind of a bummer that this is probably our last season because of Jethro's graduation. Oh well. At least we've been there for three really good seasons.

I just can't believe how well they played. It was amazing to watch them dominate a PAC 10 team that was supposed to be good. Go Cougars!

Stuck, again?!

Katya has a tendency to get stuck. She is flexible enough to get into places, but forgets how to get out. Here's where we found her stuck the other day.

She'd pulled the clothes hamper over her head and her leg through the handle and couldn't figure out how to get out. We had a good laugh. At least she can smile and taugh about it when she gets unstuck.
