Have you ever noticed that the recent Home Depot commercials show ethnic minorities planning to go to Home Depot, but then when they show employees interacting with customers, there are only white people at Home Depot. So, is Home Depot saying that minorities are all about intending to go to Home Depot, but never make it? Do they get lost along the way? Interesting... View two of the commercials below. The second one is pretty poor quality, but it is one of the best examples.

Hmm, very observant. You know what commercial has me ticked these days? It plays on Noggin and Nick Jr. It is for a Leap Frog computer game thingy. The mom tells the little boy his toy helps with computer skills, learning the alphabet and numbers, and then says "And those are all things you will need for Preschool." As if we now need a prep course for preschool. Talk about hyperparenting. Makes me gag!
Kelly,
That is very annoying that we are so into hyperparenting that we will be sucked into those kind of ads. As a teacher, I see both sides of the spectrum. And we wonder why our kids have ADHD...maybe we should medicate the parents instead of the kids.
