1 Week Old!

I just can't believe that our little boy is a week old already. I guess time flies when you spend 4 of those days sleeping off the medicine at the hospital.

He is such a fun baby. Here are a few things that I have noticed about him:
  • He is so patient- mostly with me trying to figure out the whole breatfeeding thing.
  • He is an equal mix look alike of Jethro and I. We can pick out certain of his features that each of the girls has.
  • He has such long fingers are toes.
  • He is not bothered by the girls and their loud noises and seems to be adjusting quite well.
  • He is starting to suck his thumb.
  • He is a pretty mellow guy who only really cries when he is hungry.
  • Loves his hands.
  • Loves to stick his head up and look around.
  • Has figured out how to burp and has a fascinated look on his face when he does. Looks like he will be able to burp loud just like his dad.
(Don't worry about the orange color. It's the lighting, not jaundice.)

Best Valentine's Day Ever

Jethro got me the best valentine ever this year- in the form of a cute little boy. He is something I've always wanted.

All decked out in his coming home outfit.

The best nurse ever- Erica. We got to have her for 3 days.

More Pictures of Tenzing

I uploaded a bunch of pictures to the web here:
But here is my favorite picture of all:

Cute, huh?

Tenzing has Jaundice, so he is on a bili bed. When the light isn't on, he looks less like an alien and more like a doctor. We call him Doctor Tenzing to help him feel better about being on that bed.
The girls are warming up to him more, and they sat by him for about 10 seconds before scooting away.

Tenzing's First Day Part 2

The girls were so excited to see their mommy and new brother. As I said in the last post, Cali was a little nervous about this new "living doll" and took her time. I think Katya kissed him four times before Cali got up the nerve. You can tell in the pictures that she wants to, but just isn't sure yet.

Tenzing's First Day

We are really excited to have this cute little guy as part of our family. He is just adorable. And the best news is that he is actually nursing, which both girls were unable to do. And so begins his fascination with breasts. What? Awkward...

Anyway, the birth went pretty smooth until they tried to get him out. He was stuck, and they tried suctioning him four or five times, and got two pairs of forceps to finally get him out. Eventually, he came out and let out a few little cries.

Tenzing has spent the day with us and in the nursery. We wanted him and Staci to be able to get some rest so he spent about an hour in the nursery while Staci and I tried pitifully to get some sleep. He came down for his first bath, and then I left to get the girls.

Katya was all smiles the whole time, and Cali smiled a lot, too, but was more reticent, like she didn't want us to know how she felt about this little guy yet. I love the picture above because you can see how excited and happy Katya is to have Tenzing as a brother.
Katya was so excited to see her little brother. She had no problem kissing him and holding him. It is so cute to see her and Cali be big sisters.

He is here.

Tenzing Hawks Jones arrived shortly after 1 pm today. He weighs 8.5 pounds and is 21.25 inches long. Healthy as can be.

Here we go.

We are heading to the hospital. The next post will include pictures of our baby boy.

Maybe a little obsessed...

Ever since I found out we were pregnant, I was hoping for a boy so that I could make him BYU bedding. I was ecstatic to find out that it is indeed a boy and so I redid the kids room in BYU. Luckily, BYU colors aren't too boy or girly so it works for all the kids. I dug out the girls old BYU outfits to help with the decorating. I love their room and almost wish I would have done it sooner.
