I have seen hail, but this was definitely not hail. It was little snowballs that were soft. They were so cute! The cool thing about them was that they held their shape. When Jethro cleaned the driveway that night, it looked like millions of little snowballs flying through the air. I would love for it to snow like that all the time.

You may not really care to know this - LOL - but, my brother who is a geology wiz informed us last year that this stuff is called Gropple. Isn't that a great name? Sean picked up that word from him and talks about gropple all the time.
